327th JOINT SQUADRON OPERATIONS OFFICER (JSO)

DESCRIPTION OF THE JSO'S DUTIES

 

Assigned by: HQ Group Command as a TDY assignment (1 year max.).

Purpose*: To serve as a 327th Liaison in support of Rook Joint Operations (RJO) and other Rook Intersquadron activities.  

Goal: Through the utilization of proper independent internal and external communications successfully manage the 327th's support of other Rook Intersquadron activities.

Duties:

  Represent the 327th Group to other Rook Squadrons regarding Intersquadron Joint Operations.

  Subscribe and actively participate on RJO mailing lists.

  Notify 327th Members of planned Rook Intersquadron events.

  Review RJO or other Rook Intersquadron events and answer questions with 327th members.

  Create a roster of 327th Members who commit to participate in the Rook Intersquadron event.

  Communicate the 327th event roster to the RJO team or other entity.

  Act as, or coordinate assignment of, a 327th Operations Officer to lead 327th during the event.

* The long-term goal of having the Joint Squadron Officer rotation is to allow all members the opportunity to manage the 327th in support of other Rook activities. It is our belief that this will improve the overall sense of leadership, enhance communications, and strengthen the camaraderie of the 327th STEEL TALONS.
