327th OPERATIONS OFFICER

DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION OFFICER DUTIES

 

Assigned by: CO's prior to Squad Night on a predetermined basis.

Purpose*: Command the 327th during a Squad Night.

Goal: Through the utilization of proper communications, tactics, and planning, successfully lead the 327th in the capturing of enemy bases.

Duties:

 Prepare and execute mission briefing.

  1. Prepare the mission and its goals, utilizing several flights.
  2. Assign flight targets.
  3. Assign members to each flight.
  4. Assign vox channels to each flight.
  5. Review mission and answer questions with present members.

 Lead 327th to the target while maintaining communication with all flights and making the necessary adjustments to complete the mission goals.

 Once the 1st Mission goals are met or are clearly unattainable, then establish, communicate, and execute the 2nd Mission.

Note: It is recommended to execute the 2nd Mission on-the-fly using the pre-established assignments that were made in the 1st Mission.

* The long-term goal of having the Operations Officer rotation is to allow all members the opportunity to run a briefing and command the group. It is our belief that this will improve the overall sense of leadership, enhance communications, and strengthen the camaraderie of the 327th STEEL TALONS.
